Out of Line Exhibtion

Add textile artwork to stationery design and what you get is a hotbed of creativity at Intrinsic in August. For the first time, Intrinsic will open its doors as an exhibition space, showcasing the work of six emerging textile artists for the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival 2009.
Dubbed Three, the exhibition is the first public showing of artwork from the group, Out of Line. It just so happens that one Out of Liner is Adèle’s Mum, Christine Hoffman, and then there’s Zoe Ferguson, Leona Greenslade, Gena Martin, Liz Steveson and Sue Morley.
The exhibition will present three pieces of textile art, handcrafted by the Out Of Line group, who met while undertaking a Certificate IV in Visual Art and Contemporary Craft at Marden Senior College last year.

Amongst the collection, look out for Sue Morley’s work, which was inspired by the devastating “Black Saturday” bushfires in Victoria earlier this year. The fires razed Sue’s family shack at Narbethong to the ground, leaving very little on the property, except part of a shed. In her work, Sue aims to show the intensity and destructiveness of the fire, along with a message of hope and healing.
Everyone is invited to view the exhibition Three at Intrinsic, 19 Chesser Street, Adelaide in August, 2009.
Opening times: 11.00am – 3.00pm Tuesday 11th – Friday 14th and Sunday 16th 11.00am – 3.00pm Tuesday 18th - Friday 21st and 11.00am – 2.30pm Saturday 22nd August 2009.
Join us as we celebrate Out of Line’s first exhibition; appreciate some of the finer things in life; and ponder all things Intrinsic!
